Meanwhile, Crow and Servo have locked Joel out of the Satellite of Love.

Raffi in Concert with the Rise and Shine Band
This first filmed concert by Raffi illustrates his immense charm. The soft-spoken singer leads his turquoise-clad, four-member band through 20 songs with a rapt audience of kids and parents singing along. Raffi's easy manner and fluid vocals create an atmosphere that is very welcoming to youngsters, easily going from cute songs ("Apples and Bananas") to popular songs ("Day O") to a Spanish number ("De Colores") without ever losing them. The video also captures another key element of Raffi's success--his gaze is always inviting. On July 16, 1942, Paris police detained thirteen thousand Jews across the city and held them at the Vélodrome d’Hiver stadium for later deportation to concentration camps. This event, known as the Vél d’Hiv Roundup, became a symbol of Vichy France’s willingness to collaborate with the Nazis. This 1986 documentary tells the story of the roundup and French anti-Semitism of the period through archival footage and interviews with survivors and Resistance members.

Broadcast in 1984 as part of their reunion after ten bitter years apart, Arena traces their fabulous career, their split and triumphant reunion. Most of all, Don and Phil wanted to revisit their roots in the coal mining area of Kentucky where their father Ike, a miner, had been a local guitar star. He too had played with his coal mining brothers, in the 30s. In the moody atmosphere of Muhlenberg County, they have an emotional reunion with three generations of Everlys.
